What happened to my mushrooms?
I got these mushroom corals about 3 weeks ago, they were doing great for the first 2 weeks or so. Below is a picture of them doing great
However about 3 days after i added 4 peppermint shrimp to the tank I noticed two of the shrimp were on the corals and the corals were torn and withered. At the same time as I added the shrimp I also replaced one of my 54w T5s that was not working. I am running 4 x 54w T5s 2 blue/2 white. Other than that everything else stayed the same, 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite, 20 nitrate, sg 1.025. Below is a picture of what they look like now. Any advice would be great, thanks.

I don't think it's the light, and I wouldn't necessarily indict the shrimp (although maybe)- but your nitrates are 'kinda high. Is your calcium and alk balanced as well? Also, is your tank fairly new? Mushrooms may be considered "easy," but if parameters aren't stable, they go like anything else.

I think I got to the root of the problem. I think there was too much flow for them, I changed the direction my powerheads and there was strong flow directly over the mushrooms. I changed the direction again and a day later my mushrooms are doing great
