Cool Is this tank/stand set up safe?

Hi all, I just purchased my first reef tank, a deep blue rimless 57 gallon and I noticed the stand it came with was actually made by marineland. The tank does have a metal frame, so the glass never contacts the stand but it seems to only sit on 2x4s on the width of the stand and has no support along the length. The tank doesn't wobble or move, and it sits level...I just don't want to come home to a leaking tank. I was thinking of laying 1/2" plywood for some extra support along the side braces.

Does anyone have any experience if this is a safe set up and stable or am I setting myself up for failure?

Thanks!!
