Reef Tank

I'm new and dying to start a reef tank. I already have a planted tank and a turtle tank. Does anyone have any tips or tricks for saltwater? Does it cost a lot?

Yes, and read the stickies. They'll answer all you need to get going.

Keep your params in check, keep salinity around 1.026 for corals. Buy dead not alive and seed your rock. and yes it will cost a lot. Get as big of a tank as you can get to start. You won't regret it. Nano tanks are harder to keep and you'll see why after your first day of adding water.

Cost is quite a bit more than running a fresh water tank. Dont let that discourage you. Take it slow and price out a tank, skimmer and the basic components.

Clown fish are fantastic. The basic variety are inexpensive, hardy, pair up, and are fun to watch!
