frog spawn wont open

I bought a piece of frogspawn about ten years ago. It flourished! I have given away at least 10 pieces to friends and still have two volleyball pieces in my tank. about a month ago I noticed that weren't opening like usual. now they hardly open at all. I have hammers, candycanes, goniporia and a lot of other corals that are still doing Awesome. I don't ever see anything on them or picking at them. Any ideas?

I would start with Alk. Check it for big swings or low. Also Phosphates ..if they creep up they tend to irritate Euphyllias.

Have you done anything to change your flow pattern recently? I know they don't like too much flow. Just a thought.

Thanks guys. as far as flow goes they have been in the same spot for years and nothing has changed. I will check my ALK. I just thought that if it was a water parameter that it would have affected all of the similiar corals as well.

Thanks for the ideas. i appreciate it

I know for me i recently noticed the reason mine arent opening up since being so big before is due to little white bugs on the polyps. I dipped them recently with bayer and it got rid of some but i need to do it again to rid of the rest. HTH

Xenia and frogspawn are the two corals in my tank that show distress first when something is off. If my alk is low, they get all dramatic.
