Any problems with Jawfish and goby+shrimp pair???
I currently have a 40 gallon breeder reef aquarium that has been running for 10 months now. The plan is to eventually upgrade to a 125 gallon within the next 1-2 years.
Current livestock: 1 yellow head jawfish 2 cleaner shrimp 2 fire shrimp 2 anthias (very tiny) 1 blue green chromis 1 tailspot blenny 1 royal gramma 1 christmas wrasse 2 occelaris clownfish 1 juvenile maroon clownfish with his bubble tip anenome (i know 3 clownfish is a no no, but the maroon is very small so he leaves the two occelaris alone and he only stays in his anenome all day every day) Corals: Zoanthids Star polyps toadstool leather torch trumpet (couple more i don't know) My livestock would normally be set, but IMO my tank lacks some bright color, so I'm looking to add fish that don't swim around much but will add color and stay in and around the 40 pounds of live rock. So, to complete the livestock, my idea is to add... - 2 yellow watchmen gobies and a pistol shrimp - 1 yellow clown goby - 1 neon goby After doing some research, here are my few questions: Would there be any problems with the jawfish already in there? He is my favorite fish in the tank so i wouldn't want there to be any danger to him. There is plenty of live rock for the watchmen gobies and pistol shrimp to make a burrow. Is the pistol shrimp a threat to any of my other fish? or my other shrimp? Do different kinds of gobies get along with another species of goby? Would the gobies and the tailspot blenny get along? Thanks |

I'd be a little bit worried about aggression between the four gobies you plan to add. You might be alright because those are pretty peaceful fish, but they can become territorial with other gobies, especially in a small tank. You'd also be pushing it on bioload.
