Trumpet coral
Ok I bought a 2 polyp trumpet coral as one of my 1st corals close to a year ago, and I have birds nests, acros, stylos, Zoas, torch, that are all thriving and growing very well but the trumpet just hasn't grown at all there's still only 2 polyps and half the time it's just shriveled up, could it be in too much light?

Yes, too much light will keep trumpets from fully inflating. I was surprised how "low light' allows these guys will thrive under my 6 bulb T5. Move them down in the tank, or mount them vertically or under a slight overhang where they get indirect light (not complete shade). Moderate flow is also recommended.
Feedimg them at night when the feeding tentacles come out will help considerably with growth. Once in the right spot & fed, you may be surprised at how fast they will grow and how good they'll look. GL. |
