Cloudy tank, need help!
my 40 g with 20g sump has gotten progressively cloudy from yesterday to today. The only thing new I have added to it are few small corals (zoas, colt coral, and a monti) and a small piece of eggcrate. I am going to do a 20% water change and run some carbon. Anything else I should be doing? Right now I am suspecting that the eggcrate is what made the water cloudy but can't be sure, any other thoughts on this?
Thanks James

Bacteria bloom or calcium carbonate precipitate are two possibilities. If one or more of the new corals are stressed, could they be exuding slime the bacteria are consuming? Have to see what others think.

Wow. That is a young tank. Bacteria bloom sounds about right. I had it when I set up my tank a couple of months ago. Just let it take its course.

Yep it's a bacterial bloom. 3 weeks is still a very new tank and it will eventually run its course over the next week or so. Don't change the water as this will only lengthen the amount of time the bacteria are present.
