New to the reef world never been done

I bring you another new idea and invention to the reef world.

I don't think I will be as famous as the herbie overflow.

The Reed aio Skimmer return sytem invented and unveiled by yours truly CODYREED.

So here is the prototype pictures.
All to be jocked and used to th reef community as any other new type of thing.

This is just the beginning and will eventually be using a venture style air intake. For now to be used with a air pump and wood stones for a 20l frag tank.

So your just feeding your skimmer and return with the same pump? Your not going to get enough pressure to use a venturi air intake without restricting the return line to the tank also.

So it's a venturi skimmer with a split on the pump? Wouldn't this just drastically decrease the efficiency of the skimmer? I see what you're thinking, but ultimately I don't think there is anything to be gained here. Getting the skimmer dialed in and the return flow you want would be virtually impossible and every time you adjusted one it would mess with the other.

I applaud the creativity, but practically I don't think it can really work.

The skimmer is the only thing that is regulated the remainder runs back into the tank the pump is 450 gph and about 100 an hour goes thru the skimmer.

I just happened to have everything to build it.

You could run how ever much you wanted into the skimmer. Well 50 percent at least you would just have to increase the size of the exhaust side of the skimmer and ball valve the exit water line.

The great thing is that with only one pump you have a lot more space for things like carbon heater etc.

Shouda' tried it before you posted it. That thing is not going to have enough return to the display to harly spit with a venture style air intake as they suck a ton of air and much less water than a standard intake. I know cause I tried it on a 40 breeder w/ built in sump utilizing a Eshopps PSK 75 skimmer w' a Sicce 564 gph pump and when you try to produce enough bubbles to go up the chimney the return is stifled too much. Also produces micro bubbles in the DT.
