Should I be adding trace elments?

I have a 40 breeder with just soft corals, shrooms, zoas, kenyatree, gsp. Right now im not adding anything to the water, just weekly water chance with Red Sea coral pro salt. Do need to start adding anything like the Kent Essential Elements or are water changes enough?

In my opinion, I think you're fine just doing water changes.

You really shouldn't add anything that you haven't tested for and found low.

If you start seeing problems, then I would test first. Otherwise you're just guessing.

Good luck!

I agree....I have a 60 gallon mixed reef that is totally maintained strictly by water changes. If everything looks healthy, keep doing what you are doing.

I wandered the same thing about 3 months ago. I was doing weekly 10% water changes and everything was looking good. For some reason, I decided to add it figuring it can't hurt. I added it once a week and notice huge growth out of my potato chip coral. Other than that, haven't noticed any change
