Reactor GFO Flow Okay? *video*

Can I get some opinions on if this flow looks good?

I to have issues getting this right but to me it looks like a little fast or to much flow....but maybe that's my issue I don't run it fast enough.

It looks similar to the low I run through mine. Maybe yours is just a little faster. I try and run it as fast as I can without causing any real small particles to rise.

We've been using GFO in a TLF Reactor for about 6 years. We used to run it real slow, but found it compacted. Its really hard to run it fast enough to break it down, but you want to run it so the contact time is long enough. How many grams do you have in the reactor?

1/2 cup for 75g DT + 40g sump

Well, we have 133 grams in the 150. With a moderate flow it looks fuller than yours. 1/2 cup is only about 56 grams of GFO. 1 cup of GFO is 113 grams.
The recommended amount is 1-2 grams per gal. We have about 100 gal. volume.
Just curious.

I started on the light side on purpose to see how everything responds to it.
PO4 test 0.0 this morning, so I turned it off. One of my corals looks bad after adding reactor last night.

You are running yours with a MUCH higher flow than I run mine. I was always told to just have the surface dance around a little bit. I have never had issues with my GFO compacting. Anybody else want to chime in to provide some insight :-) ?

I just set mine up yesterday - when I turn the pump off, the GFO settles down to about half the volume of when it's running. When running, I can see it slowly turning over, and the surface of the GFO looks like a water balloon when you tap it, kind of bobs up and down, back and forth.

It's hard to judge flow by watching GFO dancing, that's why I included view of flow coming out.

I think I had it too high, and did turn it down a little.
