AUSSIES- need med advice.

What's a good parasite medication for prophylactic treatment? One I can actually get from australia, and purchase online. Would like to treat my Ocellaris Clownfish I got today, better safe than sorry!

Cheers.

Hi Amba

Cupramine is available in Australia and good for ich. Will need a good compatible copper test kit as well to use it.

Prazi(quantel) is also available (for flukes).

Good luck with your first fishies.

cheers
Tim

Thanks heaps, are there any bad side effects with that Prazi (lower oxygen, lack of appetite etc)

Both of those are side effects of Prazi. Check into tank transfer method for ich, its a little bit of a pita, but better IMHO than copper.

There is a wealth of information over on the Fish Disease Forum

Thanks, have already read a lot about it all and if I did get ich, I'm thinking hyposalinity..

I meant parasites as in worms etc. I just wasn't sure what was available in Aus.

Thanks
