How many T5's needed for 28" W Tank?

Hello Everyone,

Curious to hear opinions on how many bulbs would be best to light a mixed-reef tank measuring 60"x28"x24". I plan to buy a single fixture - either a 48" or a 60".

6?
8?
10?

Thanks,

Paul

my tank is 60x30x24 and I am using an 8 bulb ATI sunpower with great results. I will be adding a little LED supplementation, but it is for color/shimmer more than PAR.

Mixed reef = 8.
Full blown high light demanding SPS dominated = 10. (A good rule of thumb for this type of tank is 1 tube per 3" of tank width).

I use a 8 bulb sunpower on a 30" wide SPS tank, and am very happy with the light.

Looks like an 8-bulb fixture is the clear winner! Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote in the poll.
