Non aggressive fish for a 20G
I'm having a tough time deciding what to put in my new 20G...I have a few other tanks with various inhabitants but I want this tank to be pristine. I filled it with somebautiful Marco rock, Aragonite sand, two riccordias, one green mushroom colony, some GSP frags and one single polyp from my nano. I seeded it with rock from my nano and put a clump of cheato in behind some rock to start a good copepod colony. Use store bought RO water.
Initially I thought I'd add a pistol shrimp and goby but then remembered how my mushroom corals are always getting covered in sand in my nano so decided against it. Does anyone have any suggestions on stocking? I'd like a creature with some interesting behaviour...I've considered a yellow spotted stonefish but don't think I want the heavy bio load. Oh and it's an open top tank.. I'm in no hurry to add fish but I'd like to research and find something unique... |

The smaller shrimp gobies won't cover your corals with sand. I have two in my 30 gal with no problems. Yasha, Hi-fin banded and Orange striped are all good choices.
A Yellow Assessor would be my go to fish for your 20gal. Small, peaceful, colorful and interesting swimming habits (as in upside down).

Yes on the Candy Cane, they are preferred for any of the gobies I mentioned above.
I'd stay away from the Tiger Pistol entirely, they get fairly big and I have read several comments here on RC about them actually killing smaller fish as well as the gobies they stay with.
