Chiller for a Pico
Any chiller suggestions for a 3g pico?
I know about the Cool Works Ice probe but it seems like they went out of business or something. Their website no longer works and I have seen the probe on clearance at a local store. I found another one but cannot find any reviews other then their own website. Its called CSXC-1 Aquarium / Hydroponic Chiller. Marine Depot just started selling them but also no reviews. |

3 gallon - have you tried running a fan across the top of the water? Would make a difference if you feel your temp is too high

I have LED's with a fan that are about 8 inched about the open top tank so thats not really an issue here. I am just getting ready for the summer when the temp inside will be much higher. My main goal is stability of the temp.

As long as you have an ato the evaporative cooling should keep the temp down

I have used two of the csx chillers, one on a 40(way too small but I got it for free) it managed to drop the tank about 4 degrees, kept the tank from swinging with the 250 halide. and one on a 2.5 cold water tank, that got down to 55 but usually was more like 57 in a 70 degree room again for about six months. They seem like quality for what they are and resisted a lot of spills salt creep and abuse. The thermostat is a bit funny to operate but you will figure it out. I don't use them anymore because I downgraded the 40 and upgraded the cold water tank.
