micro bubble issue

I have a glass holes overflow set up. My issue is I am getting a massive amount of micro bubbles. what i did was put a make shift bubble trap and seem to cut them down in the DT. Problem is because where it is coming down in to my sump is creating alot of over spray and salt creep wich is lowering salinity.Drain pipe is 12 - 16 in in the water. any suggestions would be great. Thanks

A filter sock on the return pipe should help with the bubbles and spray. You will need to change the socks every few days so buy 6-8 so you can wash a lot all at once time.

If you have not done so already, cutting some slits into the drain pipe where the pipe is under water will help significantly with gurgle, splash and bubbles. It allows the water to exit the pipe across a larger area rather than all at once.
