Skimz protein skimmer
This is my first large reef tank, I had sucsess with a 20 long about 10 years ago. I now have a 240 long 8x24x25 set for delivery. Im looking for a good skimmer, my search has brought me to Skimz Oval DC SV223 Internal rated roughly about 520 gallons. Does anyone have any advice on this unit before I pull the trigger.
Thank You for any & all help and advice |

So I was right. That is exactly thirty gallons. How cool am I.
Someone had asked me if my tank were exactly one foot longer, how much would it hold and I'd told them I think it's about thirty gallons' difference there, as I stood there and 'eyeballed' the math. (I'm doing mostly fish in a 210) I'm interested in your Sump System, what you've chosen and will be using. May I subscribe, please. Thanks very much and congrats on that big tank!! |

I went with the Reef Octopus DC line. Skimz was on my list too. I think they are comparable. I do prefer the external pump on the RO for ease of cleaning but it does add to the overall footprint...

I went with RO Super Reef space saving line for my 325g. Very reliable from the reviews I have read.
