How far to keep tank from Computer

In the process of upgrading my 14G Biocube to a IM Fusion 40. And my current 14g is behind me when I am working at my computer, so I never really get to see it much if I'm on the computer working. I would rather set my 40 gallon up next to my computer desk so I can watch the fish while I am working.

How far should I keep the tank away from the desk? The computer will be on the opposite side of the tank on the floor. The speakers would only be a couple of inches away and the monitors would be about a foot away.

Is this too close to worry about the water splashing a little bit or bubbles/foam from the water filter coming in contact? or is this fine? I looked for similar pictures with a tank near a computer, but haven't found much.

what kind of filter?

I do get a bit of bubble splash from the first chamber in my sump so it might be an issue depending on the bubbles/water flow from your filter system. The big thing I'd worry about is the random maintenance issue (siphon hose falling etc.) Spilling water on the computer. I tend to spill water every few days, but maybe I'm clumsier than the average reefer!

I have my tank right next to my computer desk but the tower is on the other side of the desk. It was next to where the tank was but decided best to move it to the other side for fear of any splashes and/or spills while doing maint to the tank.

My 10g fusion is sitting right on my desk about 2 feet from my computer.

Well I guess I'll just have to try and see. Really don't wanna put this one behind me where I can't watch.

My desk is directly beside my tank, which is open top. my monitor and speaker are about 6" away, my machine's about 2' away under the desk for almost a year without any incident.

My tanks is about 10 ft from my computer. If I had to guess, in a well ventilated room I suspect you can be as close as you want as long as it is not getting splashed.

I'm more worried about the speakers disturbing the fish.

Yea, I thought about that. But 99.9% of the time I'm using headphones. Rarely use the speakers.

I have a rather large amount of stereo equipment. Fish don't seem to even notice. Now when my buddy had a 700g in the middle of a dance club it was a different story.
