Dip new plate coral?

Hi all. I just bought a bright orange plate coral. I'm wondering if I should dip it before it goes in my tank? Or is it too fragile for coral dip?

nope, dip it. I like using Revive for my softies, acans, and LPS. Just make sure you have on some gloves and handle it with care and hold it from the bottom.

And remember they (alone of stonies) travel, and have to be on the sand bed with room to move, and WITHOUT fighting conches in the tank (the spur). NEVER attempt to glue one down.

Definitely dip it.
Last week I bought a monti and I found a small crab attached to the base. It came from Bali, and who knows what would have happened if that small crab would have gotten to my DT

I dip every every coral that goes into my tank. I have even successfully dipped Yuma mushrooms with no problems....which is frowned upon.

I think the key to sensitive corals is to weaken the strength. I do 1/2 strength of Revive for the sensitive ones and keep it under 5 minutes....and I still see pests come off. Plus....I quarantine all of my corals...so they see a dip going into quarantine for a month...then a second dip before the go into my Display tank.
