Can Green Clove Polyps move themselves?
Mine keep going from the rock they are on down to the sand bed. There isn't anything in my tank that is big enough to be pushing them off the rock. I have 3 tiny blue leg hermits, 3 bumblebee snails, 3 astrea snails and a peppermint shrimp. Well, and a large nessarius but he never leaves the sand bed. My flow isn't insanely high either. I just don't know how they keep getting down there if they aren't doing it themselves. They still look happy and healthy so I don't think anything is trying to eat them.

Can you post a picture of them? What kind of fish do you have?
If this has happened more than once then something has got to be knocking them down IMO. Things that might have a little weight to them out of the water are actually quite easy to move in the water. Your snails, the hermits or possibly one of your fish are all suspects. If it happens again, you might want to secure it with some epoxy or super glue gel the next time. |

The only fish I have is a blue damsel. And it was epoxy'd to the rock. When we got it, it was on this thin little piece of something that kinda looks like cardboard if you look at it from the side but is hard like rock, just really fragile. It looks like it is detaching from whatever that stuff is. I will post a pic as soon as I figure out how from my phone.

I'm still not sure why it keeps falling from the rock, but for this particular type of coral perhaps the epoxy is just the wrong adhesive. The super glue gel might work better. GL.
