wrasse suggestions , general discussion
Any other wrasse freaks here? I recently waved goodbye to my lunar in exchange for a juvi melanurus and a canary wrasse, both fish are female. Now can anyone confirm my understanding that having females rather than males will ease tension and aggression with wrasses in general? I'm planning to add two more from the Halichoeres/Cirrhilabrus , what would you guys suggest?
Long fin wrasse? Solorensis? Radiant?

I currently have a solon fair, pink margin fairy, African exquisite, melanarus, and a black fin (Cirrhilabrus melanomarginatus) in my tank all males and they mind their own business.

I envy the success and nice species! A few questions if you don't mind... How many wrasse in a tank is too much in terms of having a healthy environment? *Peaceful ones only obv.* But then again I guess that's the difference of a 120g and a 180g, It's easier to mix diff. types of wrasse. If only I knew better! What is your favorite kind?

It is really hard for me to say how many is to many. For me personally I am going to go with one more a Christmas wrasse ( C. Claudia). I think with the other critters this will be just the right amount of fishes for me.
Over in the reef fishes there are some wrasse experts "Evolved" is on of them. Between him and "Snorvich" That is how I have stocked my wrasses that I have liked. they have also steered me away from some like the lunare. As far as favorites I can't really say They each have their own personalities and colors. I do like to buy them as juveniles when I can and watch them go through their color morphs. I can say they are all out and about providing lots of movement.
