Grey growth/decay on Favites coral
I have some type of Favites/Favia coral, and when I bought it it had a small grey patch at the back which I figured was a bit of the rock that it hadnt grown on yet, but today i just notcied the patch is bigger and part of the coral that was fine now has turned grey. I have comparison pics where I have highlighted the difference:
Notice in the right ring on the bottom picture some of the polyps have disappeared. Does anyone know what this could be?

That's tissue necrosis. You should dip the coral to try and prevent it from spreading, otherwise it will consume the entire specimen.
And FYI, that is Goniastrea, not Favia/Favites |

And thanks on the ID, I assumed it was favites as the pictures looked similar.
