Lighting Profile for my new Tank
I have purchased Ecotech Radion Lighting as controlled by my Apex.
I have the default profile in place but looking to change that a bit. The default is 7am turn on and till 8am ramp up to 50% at 14K 8am 50% at 14K till 20:00 20:01 - 23:00 ramp down to 9: at 10K I didn't do much to that profile as that is what the APEX is set for. Any suggestions to optimize that. I think I would like to set it in the evening to be Blue from 9pm to 11pm in the sunset period.... Sorry if that is confusing, apparently I don't know enough to ask a sensible question on this topic. |

so your lights are on for a full 12 hours?
i would cut that back significantly myself. the corals likely won't benefit from that long a photo period, but nuisance algae will. my lights start at 11am and ramp up for 90 minutes. so they're on full by 12:30pm. then they're on full for a little under 8 hours, when they start to ramp down for another 90 minute period. fully off by 10pm. so my photo period of peak power is only 8 hours, and truth be told, i could probably even shave a little off that.
