Mag 9.5 running hot

Despite a 70 to 72 degree home temp my tank is sitting at 81.6. I unplugged equipment one by one and I'm convinced it's the return pump.

Anyone else have this issue?

Time to upgrade I suppose.

Mags are known for raising water temps.
Metal Halide lighting will do the same.

Mags are good at pumping but they do so hot and they do so loud.

+1. Swapped to an Eheim recently and cut back on power consumption, noise and heat.

Swapped mine to an Eheim 1262 and have enjoyed the lack of heat. During the winter I should prob use it though lol.

Place small fan nearby to blow across the pump in the summer remove for winter.

I was aware of the heat. Switched to Sicce and have been very happy.
