my 20 g tall aquarium
I have 2 cinnamon clownfish about half inch each, and a 2 inch citron gobey. CUC crew consists of hermit crabs and one green emerald crab. The gobey is always hiding out and if approach the tank it is very skittish. Is this normal behavior, should I be concerned ?

They can be timid fish by nature. While I have seen some that were quite bold, I have seen more that would hide if anything moved anywhere near them. As long as he is eating, and appears healthy, I would not worry.

different fish can have quite different personalities, even with the same species.
i have a couple fish that like to hide when i walk up to the tank, but usually come back out if i sit still for a moment or two. most notably my yellow tang. he's been with me since the beginning, about 3 years now, and is still kind of skittish. with some fish it can help if you feed small amounts when you come near. it can help put them at ease, but some you're just never going to get through to. like jason said, as long he is eating and appears/acts otherwise healthy, i wouldn't be overly concerned.
