Jebao rw-15 wireless?!

I am about to get a pair of rw15s for my 150g mixed reef tank, but I am not sure if I should opt for the wireless ones or not. Eventually (18 months or so), I will upgrade my reef tank to a 320g and purchase an apex system, so I am here to ask your opinion. Thanks!

I believe all the RW models are wireless, the older WP models aren't.

should have just ordered the powerhead and power supply, then a jbwave controller, just got mine today and could not be happier. no more synching issues and i can run my RW15 at 100% with no sandstorm.

I should've done a bit more research.
I was eager to get them since I had two dead spots where red slime was growing. It's slowly going away though.

What I will do my research on is the Apex system. I have the two rw15's, a waveline DC-10000 return, a tunze ato 3155,and 3 a360we's. Hopefully this equipment is compatible with the Apex.

One of my RW's took more than 30 days to arrive, the second one took 10 business days. If the apex is like the Reefangel you might need a connector cable is all.

Hopefully that is the case. Bless these forums. I'd be lost without em

Excuse me for asking this question, but I CANNOT understand exactly how to get my two rw15's sync'd up. They both have their power supply and their own controller, but I can't figure out how to sync them? I was under the assumption that they were capable of being slaved/linked to work together.

Set one to slave (blue led) and one to master(green led), change modes and they are synced. At least for an hour or so they will be.

Google "JBWave", that's how.

I prefer to not have my pair of RW15's in sync. If they drift independently, you get much more random flow. (Sometimes they are on together, sometimes opposite, sometimes left leads right, sometimes right leads left, etc.)

I also opted for the W1 setting on both with the pulse length set towards the longest setting. I was using "else," but my LPS, especially my frogspawn, didn't like it as much. I have both pumps set to power level "2." On "Else" mode, they cycled thorough max power - too much for my 6' 180 gallon tank.

If you want a longer pulse on W1, you can use the "C" mode without sync, which does the same thing but with a much longer pulse.

I assumed my critters would like continuity, so that's I asked about synching them. I'm going to take a closer look at the pump's settings and adjust them accordingly.

Question: how are these things "wireless" if they have wires? Not trying to be funny, just wondering cause to me, wireless means that it operates without any wires tethering one to anything.

You are trying to be funny, and that kind of attitude is frowned upon here... jk
That is a good we question. I don't have a good answer. Maybe someone can chime in.

The issue I was seeing was as the pumps fell out of sync, wherever the flow met would create a sandstorm or push sand outward. This will happen whether they are slave/master or not in sync in C mode over the course of a few hours.

The pumps are wired to the controllers but communicate wirelessly between themselves, just not very well.

The JB Wave looks interesting, wondering about the Jebao Twins Controller for a couple of RW15's?

Jebao makes an Apex controller. Just need to connect with cat5 cable to v1/2, v3/4 or vdm. Lots of programs on Neptune Systems forum.
