Jebao DCT 6000 pump

Anyone else have one..? mine running fine but I have a question for a user. I cant quite work out the instructions for saving the power setting so it doesn't restart at 100% after a switch off/power failure.

Hi Mindi

I have the same pump and can confirm that it will not start back at the setting you originally set it on, it will go to full speed for certain. The only way it remembers the setting is if you use the feed button to stop it for the 10 minutes duration pre-set.

interesting.... the instructions say that if you hold the + or - button for two seconds then the blue lights will flash twice and it has saved the settings....what you have allegedly done is "locked" the settings. This is only apparent by the fact that the Feed button does not work. If it is unlocked, the Feed button does work.
My issue is that when you do this lock operation, I am not sure the "locking" sticks for any length of time. It seems that if you do this, then turn it off and then turn it back on...it resumes at the previous setting. If however it is off for a longer time, it seems to forget..?
No saying all the above is correct... still trying to work it out and was wondering if anyone else was seeing the same thing.
For all that amazing pump for the money..really moves some water. Would love to hear if your does this setting lock thing consistently...?

DCT 6000 Update

Have spent some time now playing with this..so here are some things you might not know about Jebao DCT pumps.

1. They are fairly quiet. The noise is a higher frequency whine than the rumble of a conventional AC pump. If the room is really quiet you can hear a whine but I think it is not progressive in that it is as loud at low settings as at high. I would rate it "not an issue". Have seen some complaints about loudness of the whine but I have not experienced that. Mine is fine.

2. They have a control panel LOCK & UNLOCK function. Press either + or - for more than three seconds and the blue LEDs will flash twice and then return to their steady ON status. The control panel is now LOCKED, (including the Feed button which will not work). There is no indication that the panel is locked except by trying the Feed button. If the Feed button will not work then the panel is locked. To UNLOCK it repeat the "press and hold" on + or - for 3 seconds.

3. They have a power setting memory function. This had me fooled . The pump does remember what power setting you have chosen when it is powered off and then powered on again. This will not work if you have the panel LOCKED. If the panel is UNLOCKED you can interrupt power and it restarts at the previous setting. I have tested this repeatedly with power interrupted for periods of up to 15 minutes but have not tested it for longer outages. If you do it when the panel is LOCKED it always restarts at 100%.. Locking the control panel seems to clear the memory ...go figure. So if you run at 50% as I do, be sure to leave the panel unlocked before you leave the tank unattended for any time as a power interruption could be a real problem with a gravity drain set to 50%. I think the lock function is a bad feature designed to stuff you right up, I cant see what practical purpose it serves.

4. If you can get any of this from the 1 page manual then well done, you are better than me.... great value pump IMHO with dreadful instructions.
