New frogspawn coral need some advice

I bought a frog spawn coral form tidal gardens. It will come tomorrow so I want some advice. I want to put it by my hammer coral. I was thinking about spacing it about 5 inches from it. Is this to close?

Very nice. Euphyllia (hammer and frogspawn) have always gotten along well close together in my tanks. Both will put out long sweeper tentacles that can give other corals (and you) a nasty sting.

Proper QT would be advised. Very careful inspection and dip and then Qt for 4-5 weeks.

If your not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.

I agree they should be fine near each other, although over time they will likely grow into each other unless you trim them.

^ This. Also if too close they will begin to take on each other's characteristics: they're that much akin. If you want to preserve this pretty unique form, edge it out to 8" if you can.

Interesting, I didn't know that. SO my 2 different hammers I have growing together, may eventually be both the same color?

Agreed... shouldn't have any issue placing them close to each other.
