New frogspawn coral need some advice

Very nice. Euphyllia (hammer and frogspawn) have always gotten along well close together in my tanks. Both will put out long sweeper tentacles that can give other corals (and you) a nasty sting.
Proper QT would be advised. Very careful inspection and dip and then Qt for 4-5 weeks.

I agree they should be fine near each other, although over time they will likely grow into each other unless you trim them.

^ This. Also if too close they will begin to take on each other's characteristics: they're that much akin. If you want to preserve this pretty unique form, edge it out to 8" if you can.

Agreed... shouldn't have any issue placing them close to each other.
