I think I lost Oby the Goby

HI guys,

I had a larger watchman goby for almost a year now and I love him. His day was like clock work, the lights would come on, he would burst out of his home, and sift my sand like a champ. Well a few weeks ago it seemed like he wasn't happy with his home (he had a rock that he created a hallow area under, but it seemed like he hallowed out as much as he could) He started looking for a different home about a week ago. Since then I haven't seen him, not in my refugium, not on the floor, no where that I would think to find a goby. My numbers are good and have been good for a long time. I should also add that when he started to look around for another home I had made no changes at all to the tank.
I am thinking that maybe he got into a rock formation that shifted and fallen on him but I don't really notice any changes. Has anyone lost a goby to being squished under rocks? I have corals and things on the rock formation that he was trying to get into so I don't really want to move anything around to try and find him. I am just trying to figure out if this is "normal". I would like to get another goby to help keep my sand nice and white, but I want to make sure that I am not setting myself up for failure yet again.

My ywg disappeared for a few days in my 12 gallon for a few days to only show back up. Depending on the size of your tank getting another goby will only lead to fighting and one of the gobys dying. They can be very territorial towards other gobies. If your are worried about keeping your substrate clean you should look into Nasisirus snails and more inverts for your cleanup crew
