Seeding dry rock

Hi everyone
I currently have 150lbs of dry rock that I want to prep for my next tank. I was thinking of adding 50 lbs of my live rock in a tub with dry rock and a heater and circulation pump, and also adding water from my running tank after a water change. Dry rock has been dry for over 2 years. Am I on the right track and how long should I keep in tin to seed

Sounds about right. Or you can put your base rock (dry rock) and do you aquascape in your tank then add the live rock in with it and let it get happy in the tank.

Rinse with RODI water never use tap water for your tank that hasn't been filtered. You will have algae blooms beyond your wildest imagination LOL

i would do this.
but live rock gets bacteria on it pretty quickly and brown algae but to really be the live rock that you are buying in pet stores might take 6 - 12 months before you cant tell what rock was dry and witch one was live

Personally I'd develop the overall desired structure using dry rock without any water in the tank first, then I would add some temporary 10lbs of live rock to help seed the dry rock. Once cycled you can remove the live rock that wasn't included in the structure.
