Built my own Cabinet

Starting a 20 gallon reef only cabinet
And since I am retired I have time
Shopped online and in stores and could not find anything descent under $350

Purchased two wall mounted kitchen cabinets unfinished
Which had to support 250++ lbs
With some 1x2s for the corners, 3/4 plywood on sides, some glue, stain, varnish, screws and a little labor for less than $175
I now have a cabinet that my wife was happy to have in the family room with NO complaints

That looks very nice. Just one word of caution - if you haven't already, seal the press board with multiple coats of polyurethane so that when it gets wet it won't fall apart.

Westfield, You did a great job on the cabinet...stuff you buy now days is mostly particle board. I am like you, want real wood , especially on a fish tank stand
