Adding a 3rd Tang

Hi,

I have a 180 with several tangs. Naso, Hippo, Chevron, and a Purple and Yellow tang. I've been eyeing a beautiful black tang. All of my tangs get along today, but I'm concerned with adding the black tang with the purple and yellow tang. When I'm at my LFS's I see many Zebra style tangs in the same tank with no issues. Since I have two Zebra style tangs already is there a high probability they will attack a new black tang?

Im actually surprised your purple and yellow havent been going at it already, usually tangs that have the same shape dont get along unless bigger tanks. Imo i wouldnt try the black tang unless you are able to rehome it somewhere if it dont get along. Then again i would think your getting maxed out for fish in that tank anyway.

I thought it was 1 tang per 50g, with counting the chevron as a 1/2 tang and zebras as 2/3rd tang each.you'd still be a touch over already.

FWIW I'm looking at 5 for my 225g we one being a bristle tooth and one being a zebra.
