Plumber question regarding sink drain in fish room
I'm going to install a small sink in my fishroom. I'll be cutting an opening in my work table and dropping the sink in.
The main purpose of the sink is to route my water change water down and out. I will run PVC piping down one floor and the pipe will exit just above my utility sink in the garage. So my question is: Can I keep it simple and just run the piping straight down? I understand that most plumbing includes things like p traps, but do I need that if the water is draining straight down into my utility sink? Of course, the utility sink has a p trap. Thanks for any advice. |

No you will not need the p trap for what you are doing. P traps are used to keep sewer gases from comming into your house. However you are not attaching yours to your sewer system. So you do not have to use one. I hope that answers your question.
