Buckeye Hydro RODI unit...plz help
I purchased a Premium RODI unit from Buckeye Hydro with the intentions of mounting the unit near the washer and dryer where it would permanently remain......
due to lack of space, I am going to permanently mount the unit on my mobile water station with my unit, i bought the ASOV kit, Manual flush, DI bypass and the TRM 1 unit. since this water station will be mobile, can/should all these pieces to this system still be used? doe sit matter if its mobile or fixed on a wall? in this set up, i received an orange tube that i cant figure out where it goes to......the blue comes from the water supply from my home, the yellow tube is for the waste water, and the white tube is for the water that goes to the tank......what is the orange for? also it came with a what i believe to be a float switch? since this RODI unit will not be running 24/7 and on stand by mode, that float switch cant be used right? If I do decide to use it due to my short attention span and i walk away thinking i have time to do other things, that would save me from forgetting about it...........i didnt see any instructions on how to install it though...... |

You can still use everything you have if its mobil or not.
The orange line i am guessing is for the di bypass so that will be for your drinking water. I would deff use the float valve, it will protect you from haveing water all over the floor if you forget about it. They are easy to hook up, just drill a hole on your holding container where you want the water level to be when full and screw in the float valve, then just hook your hose to the outside part of the float valve. Make sure you have the float valve pointed the right way so it should be faceing downward when the water level is low and then almost straight accross when the water is full. Nice choice in a unit btw, you will be very happy with it and their customer service is great.

Exactly what Shifty said. You can also give Russ a call if there is any other confusion.
Fwiw - if you don't use the float valve you will overflow your storage container. Maybe not the first time, but it will happen

As far as it being mobile, keep one thing in mind. If that unit dries out between water changes, you will greatly reduce the lifespan of your DI and your membranes. Make sure you have a shut off valve at your input to seal it off if you'll be storing it for any amount of time.
