Upgrading my skimmer for my 30 gallon
Hey guys!
After about 5 years of use, my old skimmer pump burned out and my old skimmer is grungy, disgusting, half epoxy and in need of replacement. Ive spent a while looking online and searching in threads for a good skimmer for a 30 gallon tank and i've gotten mixed results. I want to get a skimmer thats going to skim moderately to aggressively since i've got some cool SPS in my tank, but I don't want anything thats overkill. I haven't got a big bioload: 2 clownfish and a banded goby. I was thinking about the reef octopus 110 but I want other hobbyists opinions. If theres another cheaper or similarly priced option that does a great job in a tank like mine, then by all means recommend it but this one pretty maxes out my price range. I can't really afford anything over 200$ http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/reef-o...n-skimmer.html Thanks guys! Ian

my buddy is building a 20 gallon rimless with a 20 gallon sump and he already bought that same skimmer. i think for the money its going to work great. as long as you have the room, bigger is almost always better.
