Chiller installation
I am considering adding a chiller to my system. Currently with my lighting the temp will reach 83 during the day. The sump is in a basement room that gets warm from the return pump (Iwaki 100 that is 400 watts) and heat from the dehumidifier. Tank is in living room that gets to about 75. Lighting is 3 250W Radiums and 4 80W t5 for a total of 1070 w.
I would like to run it from my return pump and it would sit on the floor about 3 feet lower that the sump tank. Would that be a problem? I am thinking I need a 1/2 hp chiller. Total water volume is 165

Don't know a whole lot about chillers but take into consideration that when the cope easier kicks on for the cooling of the water it will probably draw a good amount of amps. As far as where it sits that's not really that important. Obviously closer to the pump the better

I was trying to make it evaporation coil somehow but that didn't make since. I hate when a machine, even a computer, thinks it knows what I want to say. AI has a ways to go.

I currently have an 8" fan that blows down and across my sump and come on when the temp reaches 81. I have a small (cheap) set of 6 2 inch fans blowing out the back of my canopy.
I used JBL's sizing calculator and it came up with 1/2 HP. Here is my temp graph. https://www.reeftronics.net/graphns....k&member=garyk

Chiller sizing is also based on ambient temp. compared to the temp. drop you are looking for.
Remember they throw out heat to the room. When I had mine I ran it up from the main pump, high next to a window & ducted the exhaust outside.
