Question Sump question

I set-up a 30 gallon sump beside my 150 gallon sump. The 30 I would like to put chaeto in for pods should I put sand on the bottom?

Only if you are looking to do a deep sand bed.
But a regular shallow sand bed would be a waste and a detritus trap.
