Mounting MarsAqua LEDs

I've decided to get the 300w MarsAqua LED for my 40 breeder. But there's a catch... My wife doesn't want it coming down from the ceiling, nor coming from brackets off of the wall, which limits my options to the following:

1. Get a type of stand that bridges across the top of the tank (on top of the tank itself)
2. Have some metal pipe (or something like it) coming from behind the tank in an "L" shape and hanging the lights from that.

I probably didn't have to do the paint diagram...but I'm bored.

Does anyone have any pictures of doing one of these two options? I'm going to hold off on getting the lights until I know there's a way to mount them. Also, if you mounted them some other way, I'm open to other suggestions!

On my old system I had a couple of shepherds hooks that I got at a garden store. Powder coated them and mounted to the back of the stand using wood blocks so I could adjust the height. And hung the light from them
