Upgrading RO NWB-150 with BB Pump

I am planning a new build and need a skimmer for a 150g setup. Instead of purchasing a new skimmer I am considering the purchase of a better pump for the skimmer I have.
My current skimmer is a RO NWB-150 with a OTP-2000 pump. My thought is to upgrade the NWB-150 by swapping out the OTP pump for a Bubble Blaster 2000 Skimmer pump. Below are the links to the 2 pumps.

Has anyone done this before and if so how much of a difference did it make? My hope is that it would be the same as the SRO-2000.

Thanks,
Tom
