pH 7.9xx vs. 8.1-8.3 effects on growth

so I've done a little research (wiki) and found that hydrogen ion concentration is tenfold for each point up the scale in pH (true?). What is the correlation to growth in stony corals? My pH is usually always around 7.9 to 8.0 unless I artificially force it up the scale. My corals exhibit some growth, but nothing I'd say is astonishing. Has anyone actually noticed faster growth with a pH closer to 8.3? (assuming all other relevant parameters are 'good')

Don't bother to tell me not to chase pH.. I'm not. I'm just wondering.

I have had low PH for decades.

Had amazing growth. To much actually.

I would place ph lower on a scale then other aspects

Good to hear. What do you consider 'low'?

Never tested really.

But running a calcium reactor with no kalk for 6 years, tends to produce low pH

When my ph meter was dialed and calibrated, I want to say right around low 8 in the day time
