pH 7.9xx vs. 8.1-8.3 effects on growth
so I've done a little research (wiki) and found that hydrogen ion concentration is tenfold for each point up the scale in pH (true?). What is the correlation to growth in stony corals? My pH is usually always around 7.9 to 8.0 unless I artificially force it up the scale. My corals exhibit some growth, but nothing I'd say is astonishing. Has anyone actually noticed faster growth with a pH closer to 8.3? (assuming all other relevant parameters are 'good')
Don't bother to tell me not to chase pH.. I'm not. I'm just wondering.
