ATI hybrid users - Help Needed

hi all

Just purchased an ATI 4x39w T5 + 2x75w LED hybrid unit. Previous to this I had an ATI sunpower dimmable 8x39w T5.

I have set it all up and made my own custom programme.

My potential issue is the PAR of this unit. it may be way too much.

My tank is 3.5x2.5x2.5 feet sps dominant tank.

I have a apogee par sensor and took some par readings of my T5 only system and now the Hybrid system. I dont think there is an error in my testing, but the hybrid PAR levels are through the roof compared to the tubes and just need some advice from current users. When testing all flow and water movement was turned off.

Previous setup:
I ran 8x39w tubes all at 100% power, 4" above water surface

New Setup:
Lamps are 6.25" above water surface.
T5 - 2x giesemann actinic +, 1x giesemann actinic pure, 1x giesemann lagoon blue, all at 100% for 4 hours.
LED - Set to 0-40% for 2 hours, 40% for 6 hours with a peak of 45% midway, 40-0% for 2 hours. Set to emulate Aquablue Special colour (prebuilt in).

Using these settings I tested PAR on a few coral (tested with LED at 45% and t5 at 100%), I have compared the PAR levels as

Coral T5 Hybrid Distance below Water (inches)
Bali Slimer (acro) 400 1625 9"
Pink S. Hystrix 275 900 12.5"
Pink A. Millepora 225 825 13.5"
Green Plating Monti 135 500 19"

If the above is correct, then surely I will be cooking my corals alive. What indicators should I watch for if this is happening?

Do you feel the is an error in my measurements, at 40-45% these lights are not normally as bright?

The tank does not look 3x brighter to my eyes, and I am now 4 tubes less in output. (although yes I have 2 led panels)

Should I maybe drop the LED power to 30% instead?

Or should I not worry and enjoy what could be, some vey powerful lights?

The hybrid powermodule uses reflectors on the LED and you have it way to close to the water. Raise it to 6-7" above the water line.

That doesn't look right. I have the 8x 54w hybrid, 8 inches above the water and I read 1000PAR just below the water surface (using Apogee). I'm using ATI tubes though but I can't see them being much different to Giesemann. What are your PAR readings with the LEDs turned off ?

Here's my latest PAR readings if it helps, all 8 T-5s at 100% and LED's around 50% on Blue+
