Rimmed Or Rimless Tank!?! HELP

i'm looking to purchase another tank primarily as a QT tank for new fish as well as an "emergency" tank to be able to handle inhabitants from my 150 gallon DT.

I may end up doing something completely different once I have it who knows.

My real question on this is the tank i'm looking at is a rimless tank that has AI Hydra HD LED lights on it with a 12 gallon sump.

my other option is a rimmed tank with closed hood that has T5's and rear filtration

I can't decide whether to go with the rimless tank , that comes with the nice LED lights or to go with the rimmed tank that has a closed hood.

Do snails often climb out of rimless tanks?
