Sump for 60 gallon cube
I am looking for ideas for a sump for my 60 gallon cube. I currently am just using a 10 gallon aquarium with a baffle to keep the water level steady for the skimmer. I want to add a refugium and more water volume if possible. Any suggestions? Pictures of yours would be great.
Thanks, -Rick |

I got one custom built to maximize the usable space. Not much space under the stand to use a standard 20 tank.

Since my stand was open at the back and I wanted a fuge with a sump, I went with the Eshopps R-200. It sticks out the back but does everything I want -
Before that, this fuge (that I bought on eBay) fit well but didn't have the fuge. I did have to use a more compact pump with this one as the return pump chamber was so narrow. I'll be selling this one soon. (Aqualine 12 Gallon Sump - 19"Lx10"Wx15"H) |

Even with sumps this small, what types of skimmers are you guys using? I am using a SWC Cone Skimmer that is awesome but is IMO too big for this aquarium/sump.

I'm using a Coralife Cone Skimmer for 75 gallons. I've had someone disparage me for using it but it works well for me and has fit in both sumps.

I have a 15g standard aquarium converted to a sump under my 60. I don't use a refugium so I just have an intake /skimmer compartment and a return section. I'm using a JNS/Aquamaxx Cones CO-1

Man those advanced acrylics sumps are nice and priced right. I've been looking to dump this 15g glass sump for something that maximizes my under stand space.
Dammit I may be spending money again.

My advice is look around and see what fancies your taste. I once seen a hard plumbed sump that I just had to have. I weighed the pros and cons but ultimately it is what I decided on. Good luck with your search!
