How far up do I hang my light?
Hi guys,
I have a new tank and not sure how far my light should be up. Unfortunately I don't have the funds to buy 2 of these lights but I have the Ai hydra 52. Tank dimensions are 4ft x 1.5ft x 16ft deep. Thanks in advance |

I would say 6 to 12 inches, adjust as needed. i don't think you will get full coverage with just one hydra52 for your tank. I have two on mine and it's about 8inch above water.

If you can find a cheap blackbox dimmable full spectrum you can use that for now..that's what i did until i could get a second hydra and it worked fine. Then you can that as a spare or for the refugium..

Be very, very, very sure to protect it from splash: LED units and water do not mix.
