Any point to Vodka dosing small frag tank?

We dose our main display tank and it works wonders, were also heavy on the bio load, Now that I have a small 29 gallon frag tank, I'm wondering if I should even bother dosing this new set up. It will be corals only, no fish, we have lots of flow and an aquaticlife protein skimmer. Should that be enough?

I recently added a ghost skimmer to our 10g bar tank and started the Nopox program. I have had great success with carbon dosing and run pellets on my large system and acropower via a doser over night for the aminos. I wouldn't carbon dose without a skimmer though.

Nopox is Red Sea's form of carbon dosing. It was found to be essentially a mix of ethanol, methanol, and acetic acid I believe.

What are the parameters in the frag tank? (phosphates/nitrates) Being that it's only corals and I'm assuming your using RO/DI water, keeping these two low should be a piece of cake. Carbon dosing in an environment such as this just sounds a little extreme IMO. KISS, GL.

Dosing would not make sense unless there is a problem; however, since the frag tank will not have fish which you will not be feeding, it's had to imagine a nitrate problem on a separate system.

I would have thought you need at least 1 fish in there to produce waste? But even then with a skimmer I seriously doubt you'd need to use Vodka.

Coral also need to eat food, they're animals

It's not recommended to vodka dose a frag tank. If you don't have fish, there are very few nutrients available as it stands. Vodka dosing in this situation will create an environment that is "too clean" and the corals will suffer.
