Question 2 foot cube - maxspect gyre xf130 or 2x wavemakers

For those that have the opportunity to use Maxspect Gyre, what do you think of using the Gyre technology in 2 ft cube?

Do you think the overall flow circulation will benefit more than using the traditional 2x wavemakers?

Let me know your thoughts.

I had a 130 in my 60g cube and I did not like it. I bought it to replace the two MP10's I was using. I used it for about a month and a half before deciding to get rid of it and go back to the two MP10's. No matter how I positioned it there was a dead spot somewhere that I couldn't deal with. If I stuck it on the side and made a gyre the middle of the tank would be totally dead. If I put it on the back mounted vertical, same thing, but in a different position. I just felt I got way better overall flow from the two mp10's. It may work great for longer tanks, but in the 2 foot cube tank, it just was too hard to get the flow I was looking for out of one pump.

One option is to use a gyre 130 and an mp10, that may give a nice flow pattern. I never tried it though.

I have a 130 in my 2ft cube but it needs more. The Gyre is good at surface water flow which rolls round the tank but will not cause water movement in the middle of your tank...... where your corals could be.
I added 2x Jaebo WP4 pumps which point into the middle of the tank.

I am constantly adjusting the pumps as my corals grow or are added.

Cube tanks are hard to get a turbulent flow.

I have vortech mp10' s and a gyre 130. Would never buy another gyre. No comparison to the quality of the vortech pumps

I was considering the gyre 130 in my 70, but after reading various posts, I'm going with the vortech mp40's if that helps.
