lighting a 90 gallon
hey everyone, starting off a new build and upgrading to a 90 reef ready. planning on going bare bottom with heavy sps and lps / clams on the bottom. would i be ok with 2 x 150 Halides and a kessil 360 for color ? i also have a 250 W halide... any help is greatly appreciated.
I've also seen the 48" sunblaze 8 bulb fixture... any experience or reviews ? for the money seems decent. |

I don't think the 150's will get you where you want to be. A pair of 250's on the other hand is about as tried and true as you can get.
6 Overdriven T5's would also rock out that 90. Or a pair of 360's from Kessil, a pair of Radions, or an AP700...

(Previously) running over drive T5s on my 90, I was unhappy with the coloration possible and bulb life. If I didn't swap to LED I would just recommend a normal T5HO, maybe an ATI fixture.

For a 90 gallon sps tank, having tried all 3 major forms of lighting, I would first do an ati 6x54 watt sunpower fixture, second choice would be 2x250 watt metal halides with t5ho supplements, lastly would be LEDs with t5ho supplements.
