Jebao DC6000 or DCT6000

Looking into the differences between the Jebao DC6000 and DCT6000, experiences? What makes one better than the other?

Curious as well. I have a DCT and I'm pretty happy with it so far.

I'm not positive but I think the DCT is just the newest model. I've been researching return pumps and am buying the DCT 4000/3000.

I believe they make a DCS model now. Each generation they make improvements to the impellers and controllers. Not sure what they have done with the motors.

Ou8me2, was the DC version for both submersed use and external? Because I have a DC12000 that has been running a Closed Loop for 2+ years now and it's extremely quiet and is barely warm to the touch pushing an 8' head. And how sure are you that the DCS won't work as an external pump, because I think Jebao said the same thing about the DC pump when it first came out?

The DCT that I got said submersed use only on it. Not 100% of that's true, but it's what it says.

Curious. I have the original box for the DC12000 and it doesn't say one way or the other. But the instructions say "for use indoors or outdoors in salt water or fresh water underwater use only". But my DC12000 has been running my closed loop for more than 2 years at full speed and hasn't needed a thing. It's WAY quieter than the Reeflo I had before and it's barely warm when you lay your hand on it.

I have a dc12000 external on my mixing station, and a dct8000 internal as my return pump. The dct has more control/speed settings.

As of now the DC can be controlled via apex and the dct cannot.

Ahhhh. I just bought a gently used Apex and I have 2 DC12000's and 2 WP40's. Glad to hear this. Thanks.

You will need a Jebao module or an apex vdm but it will work

Is it worth grabbing the DCS model over the DCT?

DCS is newer version.

Quote:
The DCT Pump was first introduced to the market in 2014 and has now been superseded by the DCS range. Production of the DCS pumps started in August 2015, with a new swirl impeller design which increases the head height by 25% over the old DCT models and has reduced operational noise and vibration too. We are initially offering the following three sizes but when stocks are available we will offer the full range:

DCS7000 Controller from 5000Litres to 7000Litres
DCS9000 Controller from 7000 Litres to 9000Litres
DCS12000 Controller from 10000Litres to 12000Litres
Feature:

High performance motor with innovation electronics.
Energy saving of upto 50% compaied to traditional pumps.
Memory Function for Power Supply Off to recall memory
10 Speed Mode controller for S Series
25% increased Max Height compaired to the DCT Pump
IC Electronic Detection, automatic power-off protection upon no water
Motor Protection if rotor gets blocked
Super Quiet Operation
Can operate in Marine and Fresh Water
No Copper components
Wear-resistant Ceramic Shaft for longer operation life
10 Mins Feed Mode (Or Pause to resume to normal)
Internal Use Only
That's all I could find...so who knows.

from what I can find the DCS has a different impeller that is supposed to help quiet things down more and run more efficient. I went with the DCT due to lots of people saying they had good success with it.

Not to hijack BUT I just purchased the DCS 5000. Have not hooked it up yet so can't comment on the noise or anything yet.

I recently bought a DCS9000 (internal) to replace an external blueline. The DCS9000 has been great so far, dead quiet and I love how when I put it on feed hold it ramps back up when going on again. I got mine for $98 on Amazon.

Even the original DC pumps had soft start, 6 speeds and feed mode. I have 3 and they have all run great for over 2 years.

Fishstreet have no stock of dcs 7000 and asked if i would like the dcs 9000.

Can this be turned down to 5000lph?

And does anyone have accurate dimensions of the unit?

It cannot be turned down to 5000lph.

I would say the fish street dimensions are accurate. They were basically spot on for my DC 6000.

Also, Amazon has 4 dcs 7000 in stock at 25% off.
