NFP509 Nitrate reactor - peristaltic pump?
Hi, I've purchased the NFP509 Nitrate Reactor and was planning to get it with the peristaltic pump available from Deltec as a package but my LFS said I might as well get the reefdoser evo 4 as this one has 4 pumps for the same price basically as the Deltec which was only 1.
I'm really confused about whether this has disadvanted the functionality of the nitrate reactor or not. Is the evo a peristaltic pump or if it isn't, is there anything I should be aware of for not using a peristaltic pump? I've set the Evo up and am having problems with air stuck in the tubing, I've ordered some check valves and hoping this might help but if I use a peristaltic pump is this going to be one of the advantages, preventing back flow? Hoping someone can help shed some light, there's not a lot of information out there confirming whether dosing pumps are any different to peristaltic pumps and what exactly I need for the nitrate reactor. Thanks!! |

I have the same reactor and bought both peri pumps from Deltec as well the 1ml/min works great the 50 never did, way to loud.
You will need a peri pump to dose the vodka and you will need a 24/7 peri pump that is adjustable from 30 to 50 ml/min these are costly and are not your garden variety peri pump most if not all cannot be ran 24/7. |
