Is profilux worth it

I've got a profilux lying around. Is it worth setting up on my new build, or is it best just being sold.

What can it do? How much of a hassle is it? Keeping in mind I've got no knowledge of coding etc.

What are your experiences with it?

if it's laying around then you have something that's useful right off the bat. Well worth standing up if you already have it.

It does a lot. You don't need to know programming language to get it to do basic functions.

I agree. Some people question the cost vs alternatives, but if you already have it, its definitely worth setting up for the controllable power strip alone.

Bonus, they seem to be pretty bulletproof in the reliability department.

I think I'll mainly use it for its Doser as I've got that as well. Maybe get it to do temp and pH.

What else can it's do?

if you have the power bar, it can control the outlets. This is the single most useful feature for me besides the doser. Its very nice to control specific equipment and shut them off for specific types of maint. Also to delay start certain equipment after power outages. For example, the way my overflow works, the sump level doesn't stabilize for about 5 mins after then return pump kicks on...so I delay the top off system for 10 mins to account for this. You can also use it to control the top off if you have sensors and a pump.

It can do pretty much anything you want.
And it was always the easiest to program with no programming language to learn, long before Apex came out with Fusion.
It's also the most stable, best built, trouble free controller.
You can monitor pH, salinity, temp, and redox.
Control your auto top off and perform auto water changes using level sensors/
Run your lights and pumps schedules, including turning stuff off at feeding time.
Can alert you of problems via text or email so you can react quicker.
Can detect water on the floor.
You can check in on the tank remotely for peace of mind.
And the list goes on.
