Takin back to the old school, cuz I'm an old fool, who's so cool...
I have an old little giant 4-mdqx-sc rated at 1324 gph running 1083 gph w/ 24 inches of head capable of 17 max. 1" in / 1" out... Currently it is absorbing 140+ watts. I am using this to feed a Downdraft ETSS 750 Evolution (No, I won't get a different skimmer). The complaint for years was these skimmers used too much energy... However, outperformed almost every new advancement in skimming. Having had every type of skimmer available I have continued to go back to what works (well).
With the advancement of pump technology and the lowered consumption of energy, I see a bright future for the past... at least in my house. What I need to know is what would be a good replacement pump that is high pressure enough to operate the skimmer / and consume half the wattage... AC / DC? Whooomp There It is... |
